The day is cut from gemstones

That were harvested

Deep in a mantle

We will never reach.

Clouds trail their

Pearl white flesh along rivers

Of cerulean gas,

A dance with atmospheres.

The sun spills beams

Along its even track.

Never faltering, yet

Destined to be extinguished.

I would love to stay here.

Marveling at sunlight.

Basking in the glory

Between horizons.

But I am tired,

Perhaps I’ll take a nap.
