Passion Through Pain

the years of training

showcased now

in a matter a minutes

the meet a final bow

The rips, the power

The chalk like a glove

Flying free in the air

Falling swift like a dove

the dance, the rhythm

No longer bound

Springing forward again

Breaking records,

all around

the fear the height

the focus and terror

So far from the land

All deductions and errors

the distance, the steps

the sprint off the floor

Rising upwards on the path

To victory once more

the sport that brings both smiles and tears,

the love of my teammates making up for the years

of pain of scrapes of twists and sprains,

the fractures the breaks the strains all the same

Counting down the days

Until i am home

Back to the place

I've always called my own
