By The Pines On Old Cedar Lake
Waves of melancholy,
flood through my head.
Drowning the sounds,
of goodbyes being said.
Flashbacks of the summer,
play a movie before my eyes,
From sunrise to sunset,
making bracelets the whole time.
The laughter of my friends,
play a song for me to hear
The same laughs that I’ve heard,
from year to year.
Now we must go,
and leave this behind.
Until next year,
I’ll be at old Cedar for the final time.
