The silent sadness                                               Of mother earth

Tears run over                                               Snow capped peaks

Stress building in thawing permafrost                   Until it can't hold any more
An avalanche of water and ice
A river of grief

Slowly changing                                              Slowly warming                                               Slowly dying

A good reason                                                    To cry
