Grand Little Fires
I felt my voice was lost among others
This was not the folly of those I spoke to
The truth is, I spoke too quiet
I spoke of sea breezes and feathers falling from the sky
And those gentle things are nice,
But what I should have been speaking of this whole time,
Were the wildfires in my heart, ravaging and uncontrollable.
If I let the flames in my heart escape they would change the face of the earth.

As I've started to learn to pour my whole self into my writing, I've also learned to speak up for myself, for others, and for what I believe to be true in the world, for nothing is to be gained by remaining silent. A single voice can change another person's perspective in the world. I hope with my voice I am able to inspire positive change in the world and in others.
