Thankful for my Spiritual Neuterer
You walked with me on my journey since the day I was born,
and you talk positivity on days I feel torn.
You helped me meet the Almighty
While teaching me to keep smiling, oh so brightly.
Thank you for the endless candy.
The effortless happiness was extremely dandy.
I love to talk to you on the phone,
And I will never lose the ring you gave me with the topez stone.
You taught me the importance of friends,
And even taught me how to make amends.
I hope you are proud of me,
And of course I will miss sharing a passion fruit tea.
Visiting you on tuesdays,
It was just one of our ways
Of taking the time to visit with you.
I know your love was always so true.
You were the rock,
so now living is like living without a clock.
It feels like forever,
When really you haven’t been gone long, whatsoever.
It was sad to see you go,
Forever in our hearts, Gram, you will stay while we grow.

My inspiration for this poem was losing my Grandmother at the beginning of November. I believe pain is best portrayed through art. Writing this piece was for her and no one else.
