The Thankful DAughter's Tale
At a young age, the Daughter knew she was blessed.
The mother she had been given was by far the best.
A woman who was selfless and gentle,
Kind-hearted, and not judgemental
She never missed a game,
And did so much work, but not for fame.
Genuine and self-sacrificing,
Her mother was sweet as icing.
The mother was a nutritionist at heart,
But from her job, she did depart
To help own the family shop,
Working every day nonstop
She worked in the warehouse
Where it could be quiet as a mouse.
She did not like her profession,
But for her children, she did it without question.
Her mother spent her days in workout clothes,
Covered in them from her head to her toes.
She could always be found at the gym,
But she still knew how to look prim.
The Daughter with her blonde hair
And her skin fair,
Contrasted her mother’s olive complexion:
An inverse reflection.
Although they did not look related,
Their relationship was no doubt fated.
In every way, a gift from God
His plan for them was not flawed.
