Dead Trees
The sunlight dances in the trees
Water ripples with the breeze
Birds sing and caw and chirp and talk
Of new days to come.
For days I have seen and not seen
Heard and not heard
The way the green, the blue, the soft, and sharp
The living and breathing feeling of life
Has pushed through all
If birds find respite in dead trees
Then, surely, in this world, I may find peace.
