Rewired
The light streaming from the front of the room
Is far too bright for my taste.
The eyes of those around me
Stare mindlessly into their computers.
Sucked in.
Why must our lives
Be lived through a screen?
Why must this be the only way we communicate?
The only way we do anything?
They talk down upon social media,
Yet make our entire education
Revolved around the internet.
What happened
To the disencouragement
Of technology?
The world at large
Has been brainwashed.
Reprogrammed.
Our society has been,
Quite literally,
Rewired.

I've written poetry for quite some time now, but never for others to see. I thought it would be pretty ironic to share a poem about how much I hate technology-- on the internet. We love some good irony, don't we?
