Tempus repit MAG
Time can take on many shapes
Dynamic,
Distorting,
Developing,
Like the Etesian winds in the sky.
Time can be the hopeless dark barricade,
The feeling of being undeniably dismayed.
Time can be like a web
Intricate,
Inscrutable,
Inexplicable.
Time can be an entanglement of thoughts
Twisting,
Turning,
Into an array of knots.
Time can be an endless echo
Like thunder dancing in a silent meadow.
Time can be a ceaseless plight
Clinging,
Crawling,
Clambering with no end in sight.
Time can be encased in a cage
Like a body, trapped in a veil of rage,
Or time can take on many shapes.
Time can be a torrential cyclone
Twirling,
Whirling,
Raging,
Seething.
Time can be an interminable wave
Like a cracking sound resonating in a cave.
Time can be a forgotten drawback,
Creeping up from behind to attack.
Time can be the cause of countless scrapes.
Time is a river flowing for eternity
Swirling,
Spiraling,
Spinning.
Surrounded by rough, rocky ground
Scraping and unforgiving
The dark, melancholy skies
Bleak and somber,
The soft tap of ominous footsteps,
And a desolate shadow looming over.
Sorrow, misery, and dejection
Intrude all thoughts.
Shifting,
Slithering,
time takes on many shapes.

I wrote this poem at a time when I felt that time dragged so slowly. I had fallen into a mini-depression state and this poem helped me get through it. I put a tremendous amount of thought into this poem and as I reflect upon it I feel very proud and nostalgic.
