Rain
Wind starts to howl
Lightning appears
Thunder follows
Trees sway
Leaves rustle
Drip, drop
Drip, drop, drip, drop
Rain starts to pour
Puddles form
Drip, drop, drip drop
Split, splat
Rain splatters on windshields
Wipers flap like birds’ wings
Shoes squeak
Umbrellas open
People look like they’ve come from a shower
Drip, drop
Drip
Drop
Drip-
Silence
The wind calms down
Trees and leaves are still
The sky offers a gift of apology
A spectrum of colors
Forming a semicircle in the sky
A rainbow
