Maybe we don’t really know enough.
Maybe all the anger
that oozes out of our corporeal canisters
stems only from the pinhole-visions of wrongfulness
that we have had access to.
Maybe our emotions are overweight
our words, obese
and our swords, overdrawn.
Maybe our trespasses are not as
big
or great
or worthy of attention.
Maybe our demons are abridged versions
of the real ones.
And maybe,
just maybe,
that means there is
so much more need of this anger,
so much need, of more of this anger.

This piece stems for a need of the youth to respond and express as a reaction to global events- pressing as they are. The world around me, and all of us, is fraught with so many pain-causing agents. They inspire a need for us to be receptive to them and be a part of a two-way affective process. I am a 17 year old self-published author who is deeply affected by the travesties around us.
