Materialize Me
During our youth, our eyes were bright.
Our objects protected us at night.
My teddy bear on my left and blankie on right,
Protected me after my parents tucked me in tight.
Today, those objects I need no more.
No more night-lights,
Those objects I no longer adore.
So you ask, an object personalized to me.
I close my eyes and think,
No object in front of me.
No I am not a materialistic man.
Objects come and go,
Buy my friends and family will stay for the show.
If you ask me the question I’ll say “I don’t know”
Maybe as the trees change and grow.
