I can’t breathe
As I run to my moms room
She lays there on the hospital bed
Tubes in her arms
The doctors told me she was dead...
So many words rush through my head
So many I wish could be said
She can’t be!
She promised me!
That we would go ice skating again!
That we would bake cookies when she got home and better...
You’re cooking was the best
You helped me study for school tests
Dads already gone,
You can’t leave me too
I don’t have a step-dad
This is making me more than sad.
A kid shouldn’t be feeling all of this
I want you back
I want you to sing for me again
I love you mom!
Please.. please!
Don’t leave me
I’m just a kid
Where shall I go?
An orphanage?
Foster home?
Or streets, alone?
You’re not allowed to be gone
You and dad both
I need your arms to hold me
The doctors push me away
And take your body somewhere safe
I know you can’t be dead
You promised me you wouldn’t be
I need you mom...
I love you!
You left me
But you promised me...
After every death we’ve been through
I’ve had comfort from you
I’ll visit your grave every day
On my walk home from school
I won’t runaway
Because I love you
You broke your promise
But I won’t break mine...
I will love you
Until the end of time
I won’t hurt myself
I’ll know what you would do
If you were still alive
We can still go through this strife together
I know you’re with me
Because you love me
And one day I’ll join you
As in angel in heaven
And we can ice skate
And bake
And dance together
Once again
Because we promised
I love you mom
