Inside Out
I fell for him…rapidly
But not in the way i expected
I loved him, before anything else
I fell in love, inside out.
You don’t know how it is to love someone like that
It's like i took a knife and cut his chest open,
Then with my firm thumbs i grabbed hold of his skin and pulled it,
Inside out.
Revealing the bloody mess inside
I saw it all– raw, fresh, and honest.
Heck, i’ve memorised him so well from the inside
I know how that vein on the left side of this forehead throbs in anger
The way he clenches his jaw in my presence
How his lungs heave when i say ‘i love you’
How his heart beats rapidly and irregularly when he tells me i love you.
I saw it all– the good, bad, ugly, bloody…
And i loved it,
I love how im the only one who knows him,
Inside out, and back again.
