Daydreaming
I am surrounded by a vast world who claims to love me,
But the only love that matters is yours.
I am drawn to you like a moth to a lantern,
The closer I get,
The heat intensifies.
I approach the source of the blinding light,
I lose all my senses.
Overcome by a heat in my chest that engulfs my limbs and torso,
I stand immobilized by your great light,
Blinded by your intensifying aura.
The world points to you to my faults,
My worst qualities dug up with a brush and shovel.
But you might see through them.
That keeps my spirit alive.
The slim chance that my imperfections are overlooked.
What are the odds?
A girl with no flaws following a low life
into a dim cave to nowhere,
On the hunt for that extravagant light.
I long for one night,
Where my dreams become reality,
Where the world would melt.
Leaving it all on the line.
That is all I can hope for,
To uncover the brightest truths of the universe,
All for me,
In the kiss of a single girl.
