The World Under the Boat
Sometimes in the middle of the lake,
I feel worried, overwhelmed,
But for the most part,
I feel peace, comfort.
I love to go out in late August.
The temperature warm,
The lake still as glass,
The weather calm.
Above the surface, a world of chaos,
A place I am here to escape from,
But below, a world of mystery,
A world I hope to explore.
Creatures, living in harmony under the water,
Could they even fathom the world above?
It seems so close, like you can touch it,
But if you think, it couldn’t be further.
Do they know about us up here?
Like we know about them?
Maybe they do, but how much do we really know,
About the world under the boat.
