with a flower drawn on it.
I look at it.
I smile,
but I want to cry.
Take me back to a simpler time.
When there were no worries
When getting a slurpee with dad made my day
When we had Friday movie night
When the seeds of anxious thoughts weren’t planted yet
Take me back to a simpler time
When boys didn’t make me cry
When homework didn’t make me cry
When life didn’t make me cry
Take me back to when I was 7
When I would drive in the car with my dad
And just listen to the CD
with my name on it
