Don't Let Them
You may find yourself alone,
Be it standing in a forest,
Or in bed at home.
The feeling lingers.
The feeling can be good or bad,
And spread from your chest to your fingers.
Being alone can spark thoughts and emotions,
Just like the lighter you use to spark the joints you smoke,
To keep them from getting to you,
Whatever you do, don’t let them poke.
Don’t let them poke their way under your skin,
Getting into your thoughts, plotting their foul ideas amongst your brain.
They don’t like that you dress outside of the social norm.
They say you look like you’re getting ready for rain.
Don’t let them bombard you with rude comments that create rude thoughts.
Only let them see you brush off their comments,
Because they’re alone too.
They just have different was of showing their pain.
They deflect their pain onto a target, and that target is you.
The way to make them go is to make yourself seem strong.
While that may be hard due to obstacles,
Things at home being wrong,
Or a chemical imbalance in your brain.
Don’t let them see you struggle,
The way you dress, thats your own style, even if there’s no rain.
