Stars
You shine like a thousand raging fires,
A smile so bright it melts the Earth.
An ethereal being, dancing upon the sky,
A grace unknown to man.
A twinkle in your eye,
You know everything I don’t.
Beauty holding you up there,
A twirl of your soft features.
You glow so brightly,
Watching over me.
I can’t reach you,
But I know you will protect me.
I’m safe in you because I am you,
Made of fallen stars,
Stardust holding my bones together.
So full of life, so full of fire
A twisted dance of light and heat.
You fill the sky effortlessly,
And still look so breathtaking.
The smile of angels’ fills the sky,
Your omnipresence startling and beautiful.
Stars, oh my Stars,
You hold the justice of the world in your graceful hands.
The fate of all in your unknown eyes.
Your feet lost in your dance,
A God in a sea of lost men.
And when you don’t shine,
I’ll still watch the fading glow.
And I’ll still follow that fallen stardust,
So that I may lay by its side.
A final tribute to the angels above me,
To return to my maker,
To the dust from which I came.
