Real World
I learn how to take movements,
as I step out of the cocoon,
inch by inch, grasping the leaf.
Catching my first few breaths of air,
I open my eyes to see the real world.
Watching the rest of the butterflies fly in the wind,
I wonder how I can be more like adults already?
I try to keep my wings off from the ground.
Looking up to my mom and dad, I see how to conquer the world,
as pollen brushes off from the flowers.
Wishing I could take action in my own world,
I know I have to follow under my parents’ wings,
growing full body with colors, exploring on my own.
Not needing to be stuck under my parents’ wings,
I am released into reality as my parents watch me grow.
