Growth of the Forest
The golden sun casts down on the short blades of grass, as we wind the dirt
path through groves of standing proud trees. Their leaves swaying through
the gentle breeze of the crisp afternoon air.
The sky ocean blue. Specks of clouds dotting the horizon. The
distant call of birds fills my ears.
Trekking down the dirt road, smearing my shoes with a dusty aroma,
looking upon full grown trees once mere little saplings.
Like caves to houses to skyscrapers,
the forest evolving to its future and beyond.
A deer stares through its enchanting black eyes,
until it runs through thickets of trees and plants, looking
for another friend.
The winding dirt path oversees a steep hill,
as we pass a brown bunny, enjoying a grassy delight, as his panda-like
eyes reflect his development, and progress of all forestkind.
Broken branches and sprung up rocks are mere little obstacles, overcome
by the forest, and by mankind.
Flowers litter the ground, standing proud and tall with their contrasting
colors and silky petals and stems. Like suburban houses dotting
the horizon beyond the growing metropolis.
Nearing the end of the dusty trail, we turn and overlook
the vast expansion of this bustling environment, knowing that
it will continue to amaze mankind and even itself.
Looking back at the vast screen of trees and golden sunlight,
knowing that it will stand majestically for generations to bestow
upon this environmental sphere. New creatures and species will dot
the land, like new humans replace old in a never ending cycle
of existence.
Just knowing, when the golden sun casts the sky
into a pinky trance, that the forest will prepare
for tomorrow to come.
