Friday Night Lights

For the freshmen,
the time is just beginning.
For the seniors,
time is slowly thinning.
Some don’t know
that today is the day.
It has come,
for it is finally Friday.
They storm the field,
and join together.
The opposition is ready,
determined to see who’s better.
Both teams alike,
stand ready to fight.
The crowd is excited,
as the time turns to night.
The game goes on,
it is a raging war.
Hours go by
and both teams score.
The final horn sounds,
each team then unites.
They shake hands together,
underneath the lights.
