Texas
Blazing sun beating down on you,
The sounds of birds chirping,
Snakes scattering,
And the blistering hot sand blasting through your shoes,
Dark sounds of bull grunting,
Rope screams.
Each shake of the ground,
A 1000 pound beast stomping on the fairground.
Jaw clenching,
Jaw dropping,
Oohs and ahhs throughout the stands,
Gazing as you count 1-2-3
BOOM!
Another smash in the dirt.
The bull bursts up with fear in his eyes,
Runs to the fence,
looks life or death in the eyes.
The crowd goes numbly quiet,
You hear each boot imprint smash the ground.
Over the fence the crowd goes wild and crazy.
Yee haws and ahhs fill the air
Onto the next repetition of boots clicking
Bulls bellowing fills the stands again...
That folks is rodeo life.
