Night terrors
A dark damp basement,
Shelves of mason jars uncovered,
To reveal rotten peaches.
Oh the terrible scent!
Covered in chains and loose sediment.
All of the pain these “dreams” brought.
Stuck in my brain like cement.
Dark figures swarming around me,
There was no humanity in the soulless eyes.
That looked me over,
Not even a mere fragment.
The peaches poured over my head.
A smell I would soon learn to resent,
Bugs of all kinds swarmed around me,
As though they were hell-sent.
They all tore at my skin covered in peaches,
I always wake up then tear stained cheeks,
Feeling completely spent...
