My Desi Girl
My Desi girl,I wonder if you know how perfect you are.
You hate the colour of your eyes
You call them dull and dirty
But I have seen the sunshine,
Stolen sunlights in your eyes
They keep raw emotions a secret
Your skin you say is too dark but the sun loved you so much he only kissed you more than others
you’re the color of melted chocolate
When I crave something sweet
Your skin is the color of our earth
Where your ancestors planted crops on to feed the woman who’s thighs were thick as tree trunks
The rivers of Punjab flow through your veins
Your mind is like a holy book, blossomed from ancient secrets and beliefs on how you came to be
You’re smarter than you think
You constantly undermine yourself but you’re an entire work of art ,you are beauty in its purest
My Desi girl you are not a brown girl stereotype nor will you ever be ,you are this generations greatest creation
And nobody compares to you,my Desi girl.
