Trapped in a cage

Hearing thunder from outside

Boom, boom, the teal of the ferris wheel

Underwater roller coaster, just trying to catch a breath of air

Surface of the water coming into perspective

As tide rises

Chorus of souls demises 

Blank minds turned to stone

Icharus and his fall

The world will remember, waiting for letters from invisible souls

Rainbows turned to smoke

All these things we never hoped for-- an hourglass 

And a bad magician

In a nightmare

Amputation, determination, a mystery, an illusion

The stump of an old dream, crumbling

The bad magician flips the hourglass, signals the thunder

Flashbacks of color

Of a forest fire

All inside the bad magician 

As he

Disappears 

Into thin air
