a library's pantoum

library: safe and sheltered between books

in this place where i belong

flipping page after page

diving headfirst into different realities

in this place where i belong

hidden between boisterous bookshelves

diving headfirst into different realities

worn paper against my fingers

hidden between boisterous bookshelves

and buried beneath a grey sky

worn paper against my fingers

i let my knuckles skim the faded spines

buried beneath a grey sky

i sink into the corner chair - my corner chair

i let my knuckles skim the faded spines

each a mystery divulging secrets in my ear

there is a quiet hum of whispers

each a mystery divulging secrets in my ear

i open the first chapter

in this place where i belong

The library has always been a safe place for me - it's where I can let go and read for hours. I hope this poem resonates with other library lovers.
