Depression Is Not Just About Being Sad
crying when you are depressed
feels an awful lot like
trying to pump water out of a dried out lake,
dried out because climate change came here first.
in both scenarios,
the main task to be performed consists
in the taking of something that is not really there.
i used to cry when i was depressed
because i wanted to get the sadness out of me
but truth be told,
there was nothing in there to be poured out.
i was feeling as empty as the essence of nothingness.
so, it really did feel as if i was trying to steal water
from a lake that… well, had no water left.
i felt stupid doing such a dumb thing
what is there to do when you feel lonely,
