My Simple Childhood

My simple childhood, with all the memories

Have all faded like histories

The stuffed animals, those little playing things

Were filled with all the joy life brings

A young girl with big dreams

And her friends played on a playground crafted with wooden beams

Pretending to be heroes and explorers at that time

It has now become part of the mountain of memories I climb

Imaginations of all types have soared in my mind

Like an eagle in flight, so brave, so kind

With a journal in hand, I wrote and I wrote

Ideas I know inside and out like a coat

Wolves roaming free in the forests, a superhero dog

But now these ideas are silenced, as still as a log

A young girl discovering a new world: the Land of Light

A girl sword fighting enemies with all her might

She rode through forest thickets with a young girl named Hope

A young girl who can never mope

Sadly, this idea has gone through many changes

That ranges

From characters to plot

I’ve let the freedom and fun of ideas rot

This is my fifteenth year

And now hear

This, for I miss the old me

So innocent, so free

My interests are new

And change as if on cue

But no matter how they change and how much I grow

My memories will be all stacked together, one in a row

The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.
