Feminis
To those of you who think,
Hotness,
Is synonymous,
With worth,
And because I’m female,
I don’t deserve,
What you’ve got,
And you frown upon me cuz I’m,
Not,
About to try out some Barbie doll mold,
I don’t fit,
And if you think I’m gonna sit still, do what I’m told,
You can forget it.
And I shouldn’t have to fight,
For my rights,
They should already be mine,
But since they’re not,
You better believe I’ll be at the front line,
Holding my protest sign high,
Because I’m not about to stand by,
And watch, ‘cause this isn’t the world I want to see,
Media surrounds us with sexism, misogyny,
And we’ve come a long way, but we’ve still got far to go,
To a day when no one has to clench their fists when they walk down the street alone.
And don’t think I dress up for you,
I don’t,
Don’t think I’ll follow your orders,
I won’t.
And if you are asked if you’re a feminist,
I hope that you say yes, because the battle’s not yet won,
Because all it means is equal rights,
Feminism is for everyone.
