Waking up
June 15, 2019
Going to sleep is like a store closing
I have to wait until tomorrow to see what happens
I put on my comfy pajamas
Brushing my teeth as I think about tomorrow
I come into the quiet kitchen
I say goodnight to my parents
They are the shadow that I see when I go inside my room
I pray in silence
Every new day is like New Year’s
Where we can start all over from the bottom
Climbing from the bottom to the top is a mountain
We may not know what can happen
But sleep prepares us for the very next day
