It seems-
It seems like yesterday,
when you showed me the hidden trails
lined with grass looking like dog tails.
You taught me to look for a new path
when life kept me in a wrath.
It seems like yesterday,
when you introduced me to fries and ice cream.
I never thought the two could be a team!
You taught me to expect the unexpected,
as the best surprise always come unpredicted.
It seems like yesterday,
when I listened to you talk about your future,
and I told you mine deals with a suture.
You taught me to value those in my life’s play now,
because someday they will all take a bow.
It seems like yesterday,
when we were just two children on monkey-bars.
Who knew we would go this far?
Now I watch you in your graduation hat.
Where is that girl in ponytails, where are you at?
It seems like yesterday,
when you were still here with me.
Yet before tomorrow could arrive,
you leave.

This poem is dedicated to my friend who is graduating high school this year. Although we are very different people, we never seem to get bored with each other around. We share so many memories together, it's hard for me to even picture my childhood without her. I don't know about her, but she definitely played an important role in making me who I am today. I wish her the best of luck wherever she decides to go in the future!
