Mine

      Lies

You told me the stars could only shine in the dark

You told me that for there to be good in this world then there needed to be bad

You told me that without darkness there was no light

You told me the truth but you told it slant

You told me about the world through rose colored glasses

You told me everyone deserves a chance

You told me you were sorry

You told me lies

And I believed them all

    Tepid

A flickering street light

Droplets of rain blur my vision

I walk along, without a companion

Stumbling to a house that is no longer a home

Falling into what used to be a warm bed

Tears streak my face as the memories of you fade away

   You

I was young when we met

But now I’ve grown old

My youthful laugh and shameless smile

No longer dominate our conversations

Your voice could make my worries go away

The warm eyes that greeted me through thick lashes

Neither warm nor cold now

They are lost

Just like you and I

Without you

I used to believe there was no me

That I was a bird with clipped wings

You let lust get in the way of the love you felt for me

I let anger blind me from seeing your apology

But now it’s too late

Your apology is dead

And I’ve begun to blindly believe in fate

  Summer’s Dream

I don’t wanna wake up

No, I don’t wanna go

The warm breeze and blue skies

Is all I wanted to see

I don’t wanna wake up

No, I don’t wanna go

I just wanna stay here

Lay here

All alone

I don’t wanna wake up
