The waves keep pushing.

A thunderstorm emerges inside me.

I struggle to keep balance.

let go, let go, I think.

You're nothing, you won't make it, they say.

The waves clash uncontrollably.

Keep looking foward dont back down, I think.

Energy i concealed starts to ignite inside me.

Fueling me with so much power.

Keep looking foward dont back down, i think.

you're nothing, you wont make it, they say.

I lose my balance,

but i dont fall,

I dont drown.

I fly.

Flames burst inside me,

My eyes flash fire,

I stand tall.

My long hair, dark and flowing in the wind.

The sun comes out and I fianlly let go.

Today's a new day,

A new opportunity.

Today, I fly.

The ocean calls my name,

Wind blows my hair,

My strength emerges,

The sun is bright.

The past is history.

today's a gift.

Tomorrow's a mystery.

Today, i fly.

The author's comments:

This piece was written to motivate everyone to push themsleves. The wind, ocean, fire, and flight were all examples of moving in life. I connect with nature very much and find the good in humanity. Society tries to put barriers in many aspects. My message is to all the young women, young girls, and anyone, to always write your own story and never let something tell you how to write your own life. Your own story. Learn to let go and take flight even if there are tough obstalcles in your way. FIght your way through and you will make it. Write your own story.
