a poem for me
i wash myself with coconut
lavender
and roses, too
my long hair smells like lemongrass
my eyes a glacier blue
my lips are kissed with sweet strawberry
my smile is warm and sad
my heart is made of glass and rock
experienced and soft
my hands are worn from healing pain
my body’s wrapped in lace
my chin stays held up high and proud
my nose defined and straight
and though sometimes
i think
i hate it
i love it
all the same
