Dear Baseball

Dear Baseball,

From the moment

I picked up and threw you

And squared one up

I knew I would always love the sport

From playing in the basement and cracking my head open

To playing in tournaments every weekend

I knew everyday it was baseball

From long weekends in the summer with your summer ball team

Or short hot day when yall dont play as well

It’s all love for the game

That feeling you get when you have the game winning hit

Or that game saving play

You do everything for the game of baseball

When you don't feel too good but you still go get some reps in the cage

Or a couple extra grounders where ever

Its all for the game

I hope that one day I get to play at a higher level

And take that next step

To play on a college field with thousands watching

But I do know you can't play forever even if your the best--

I hope to one day be watching my son

With as much love for the game as I once did

To see him knock in that last runner or make that diving catch for the win

To see that smile on his face me and all my buddies once had doing the same thing

Because

It’s all for the game

Love you always.
