Waves

Looking out over the horizon

As the waves crash under the night sky

And the day fades into the past

Lost in the infinite expanse

Overtaken by insignificancies

Like a wave being pulled forward

unseen forces

In the end comes crashing to shore

Ending their existence

Making room for the next

in nonexistence find comfort

Knowing that many have crashed before

many will crash after

Opportunities

Opinions aside

People really need

Perspective when it comes to

Overlooking what they have and instead

Robbing their neighbor,

Taking their pride,

Unearthing the worst in themselves,

Never looking back,

Inadvertently giving up their chance in life,

To only find themselves lost

In their own intentions,

Eventually they'll

See.

Tribulations

Trying to cope

Rejecting the past

Ignoring the signs

Berating those who care

Understanding that what once was is no more

Letting go of the past

Allowing yourself to live in the present

Taking life into your own hands

Inherent to those before you

Opening up to those around you

No matter how ugly the past

Salvation is to come

Balancing Act

As I walk the wire with the weights of life balancing me out

Looking down at the cold hard ground

Knowing you can’t balance forever

And even though lowering the wire makes the fall shorter

is it really safer

Was it worth not taking the risk

Because when you fall

And the lights go out

Who will be applauding you for your achievements?

Who will remember your trials and tribulations?

Without risk who are

How do we know what we can really do till we try?

Imperfect

Are flaws are what define us as people

Shape use into who we are

Help us take risks and find solutions

Keep the constant need for progression alive

Make us strive for better and better lives as we see fit

we put other problems into perspective

although it might seem all the odds are against us

We still need to see to fixing these flaws to the best are ability

As to show the next generation

So that they don’t make the same mistakes

Addiction

Why does our government punish their own for have a disease

A disease that robs them of control

Takes the person they once were and turns them into a “criminal” in an instant

But once you start, going back to the way things were is nearly impossible

Out of reach.

you get caught with the disease they throw you a cage with those who have fallen down the same path

With no one to guide them they fall deep until there is no way back

Change is all we need

A fresh look at a problem that’s plagued us

That although it starts as a choice, it soon turns to an uncontrollable illness

White Wall

As I sat and stared at the white wall

I tried to clear my mind

But the ache in my head would not recede

Trying to relax,

I close my eyes

Blocking out the outside world

But find myself lost in the wilderness of my mind

Surrounded  by remorse from which I can’t escape

But no longer being able to run or hide

Ignited a fire of mindlessness in me

Which slowly spread from memory to memory

Burning down the walls of anxiety that once held me prisoner

And in nothingness I find relaxation

Knowing that the past is behind me

Solace

When you find yourself drowning in regret with no way to surface

The only option is to sink and find out what’s on the other side

Because worse case you'll find a new

And in a new most find solace

Solace in the fact that there is another side

A side wear your past doesn’t determine your future

But starting a new is never easy

It's something that we can’t help but fear

Losing what we have

What we knew

But getting dragged through your days by your own subconscious is no way to live

Taking control of your life seems impossible

Until you actually try
