Open Letter To Football
May 21, 2019
Dear Football,
It was love at first hit,
When I met you
I knew I loved you,
From 1st grade games
To lacing up
And hyping up
In my first high school game,
You have always been there
Every time I step on that field
I give my all,
Even if it means getting hurt,
YOU are the game I love
YOU are what I pour
My time and effort into
Every early morning
Every late night
Every bruise and injury
Every fight
Every minute on that field
You made me a better person
You teach me life lessons,
The sport that takes mental
And physical endurance.
I can say after EVERY game
I gave you my all,
Few can say that.
I left it on all the field,
Playing line takes more than just using your hands,
It takes a lot of heart.
You are my life,
You are my love,
Late nights thinking of you,
Seeing what I can improve
Seeing what I can do to make YOU better,
You are the challenge I need,
To make me a better person
And a better athlete.
The sweat and blood
Is always worth it.
Always a part of me
