The ball player soured into the sky like a mountain lion chasing it’s dinner

He pranced around with the ball and dunked it for all of America to see

The crowd went wild and the score was 100-75

The Bulls won

Meanwhile in the filthy streets of Chicago, his younger brother

Was juggling a smooth dotted cube for a payments

Like a clown would for a circus show

He needed to pay the rent one way or the other

After gaining enough money for his next meal,

the younger brother watched his older brother score the finishing point on a diner's television,

while eating a slice of some greasy peppered pie

On the other side of the diner,

there was a kid who was playing with 3x3 gridded block

The colors switched back and forth like traffic lights

After the kid finished,

he picked up a comic book with a rocky orange character on the cover

The character was bending a molten rock like bar to create a frisbee

After he finished reading,

the kid placed the comic back into the wooden case with the other books in the diner

The younger brother walked out of the diner to go home

Until he saw a cat licking the rainy water with its pinkish, greyish taste buds

The cat reminded him of himself,

Having to taste filth off the ground in order to survive on this wretched planet

But suddenly,

A huge creature with obsidian black hooves and barbie blond hair

Chased the man around like a game of Pac Man

And the farm animal was winning

The rabid creature struck the man with a force

Stronger than his older brother’s slam dunk

The man seldom got up from his depressed mindset

But looked up and saw a poster

Of kids holding hands on top of a sphere with lime green land and sky blue waters

And it made him hate his life even more

Later days came with suicidal tendencies and anxiety

To the point that he didn't want

To leave his own house

Meanwhile, the ball player

Was signing autographs

And getting record deals

He came home to a nice family

Of 3 kids and a glamorous wife

But he was distant from his family

Instantaneously, the man got a phone call from his mother

"Your brother has passed," she exclaimed tearfully

The author's comments:

This piece is meant to show how inconsiderate a human being can be when he is living lavishly. On this side of the spectrum, a man is pursuing his dreams and living an amazing life, while his brother is struggling to eat and can barely provide for himself. When you have fame, you tend to look to your fame and riches instead of seeing how your family is doing, or if they're even alive.
