Its Her Life
One of the hardest working women I’ve ever seen,
Graduated top ten in high school,
Attended college and got her dream job,
Married shortly after,
A few years later, the couple was blindsided
She was diagnosed with heart failure
There was no time to be upset in her eyes
In fact, she worked even harder
The worst part in her eyes was, she couldn’t have children
She took experimental drugs to try and become a mother,
She took them even when she turned pale,
The drugs were killing her,
The doctor took away her prescription
Weeks later her husband found her in the bathroom, she had been taking the pills again...
She cried profusely, she wouldn’t be able to have children.
7 years after the diagnosis, she was weak
She turned blue from the lack of circulation from her failing heart
Despite this, she still worked,
She still worked in that hospital bed, to further provide for herself and her husband who had been recently laid off
*A call on the phone*, “A 19 year old, has died in a car crash”
This was her chance
The scar still rests on her chest as a reminder
That she deserved to live, that all her hard work has paid off
That she created her life,
and she wasn’t going to let anything take it away.
