The Marching of Time
Everything fades away eventually,
nothing ever stays forever.
With the passing of time,
comes the passing of life.
Kingdoms rise and fall,
empires crumble to dust.
The powers of countries wax and wane,
on the moon of supremacy.
Religions come and go,
prophets pop up and then disappear.
No god is worshipped forever,
here comes a pantheon, now monotheism.
Species evolved and destroyed,
apex predators get replaced.
First the dinosaurs with a meteor,
second the humans with a nuclear winter.
Us humans must remember the fragility of life.
Us humans must remember the divides that we cause.
Us humans must remember the impact we have.
Us humans forget the importance of life.
