A walk with you

May 9, 2019

I walked with you again last night.
The night was warm
I could see the beam of our flashlight
And the way you were holding my hand

It seems you knew about all of my troubles
For you hugged me close to you while we walked

The road was smooth,
Just like things always were between us.
Through the soles of my feet, I could feel the warmth of the pavement

I wonder, if we tripped and fell,
Would you catch me?
Would I laugh it off if I hit the tar
Or would I be silent and hold in the pain?

I walked with you again last night,
It seemed so real,
But in reality it's just a memory,
A recurring dream.

I wish we could walk together again
But that will never happen.
You were my bestfriend,
But you have been gone for some time now.

I walked with you again last night,
In my dream…

This piece is about the loss of my boyfriend, who was also my bestfriend and my family. His birthday is 5/13/01 he would have been 18 this year if he hadn't been killed in a car accident back in 2014. He was the absolute love of my lifeand I miss him everyday but I know he would want me to continue on with my life so thats exactly what I have been doing. Dylan if you are somewhere watching over me I want you to know that I love you so much and I am thankful for the time we shared together on this earth.
