the sounds of my reality play in the background like low quality, ocean themed white noise
the insurmountable weight of my thoughts crashes like waves and
i, am a seashell
an empty place where love used to live
a place where joy once called home
the waves insist on pulling me back
into their tides and currents
as soon as i make it back to shore,
back to safety
i am drowning once again
