Battling your sins
As I travel through the catacombs,
I notice very spooky things.
This place gives me anxiety and I wanna go home,
but I want to see what this place brings.
Abandon all hope ye who enter here carved in a wall.
These are the gates of hell, I decide to go through.
The first stage is limbo, where some spirits roam the halls.
They know of your sins and until you atone for them, they follow you.
There are many other stages to hell.
Each one with its own task and difficulties.
You might get out alive with a story to tell.
Or you might get stuck, unable to leave.
When you escape you feel brand new.
Your spirit cleansed from all evil.
But is the challenge too much for you?

This piece was inspired by Dante’s Inferno, which is a story about a man who goes through the nine different stages of hell to save the love of his life. Each level of hell has its own theme. For example, stage 2 is called the stage of lust and in this stage they test Dante’s loyalty by introducing him to something that any person with lust in them would fall for.
