It is us who cry in the dark

It is you who smiles from afar

It is us whose tongues turn into

Leather, just for a droplet of water

It is you who leaves their tap open

In the morning and also at night.

It is us who bleeds for success. It is you

Who sits in their father’s business chairs

It is us who climbs the tree branch by branch

Just so we can see, the view from above;

But it is you sitting in your tree house

Watching us without caring from above.

In the end of life, it is us who looks in the

Mirror and sees you on the opposite side.

The author's comments:

In this poem I wanted show the readers how we betray our ownselves by not taking care of eachother. And slowly we are forgetting about our surroundings and the rest of the world.
