We Used to be Best Friends
I love the way we spent late nights talking,
sharing secrets and giggling at each other's jokes.
I love the way you made me feel safe with your smile,
And invited with your hugs
I love the way you protected me like your very own child.
But that soon turned sour.
I hate the way you made me feel hopeless after everything,
The way you lied behind my back and in front of my face.
I hate the way you make me want to hide so I don't have to see your face,
The way my hands tremble when I know you are around and watching.
I hate the way you have made me feel insecure,
Making me feel like I need to be one step ahead.
We used to be best friends...
