Hope
As the pen scratches the journal page,
Her warm saline tears flood her page.
The snarly ink compliments her sad eyes.
Hoping, pleading, praying
For the pain to end.
As she writes farewell,
With stinging, bloodshot eyes
It’s been awhile for her to smile.
It would be okay if it was just for a day,
Then maybe she could take back her goodbyes.
Words fill her pages.
No longer a farewell,
But a way to spill her feelings.
The pages are her armor,
And her pen is her dagger.
As she writes her way to sanity,
The war in her head cease.
Drying her eyes,
And putting back the light.
Now she smiles,
Realizing pain doesn't last forever.
