You And I
Summer
Like a breath of fresh air after choking on overwhelming stress for hours
No more dress codes or stupid boys
No more worrying who will find out about us
My shoulders are exposed and my long legs are hanging out of a window
Summer has come at last
Now we spend every day together
I forget my sunscreen
You forget your bug spray
Whatever
Everything is simpler now
Every morning we wake up already too hot
Our main diet now is black caps we pick in the woods
You think the pies we make with them are the best in the world
I think our fingers our permanently purple now
And your bug bites keep getting infected
My sunburn won't heal until September
