The Dark Companion
Our relationship has always been strange.
We have known each other for a long time.
You are not keeping the same range,
But it is definitely not a crime!
When I was a kid, I really hated you!
When I was a preteen, I didn’t consider you.
When I was a teen, I liked you.
Being in my adulthood, I miss you…
Da Vinci said you are a waste of time,
But to forget you can be sublime!
Sometimes, I did not see you for a night,
Because I was not exactly alright.
I came back late much too often.
For in the end leaving too soon.
It's hard to leave you with the moon
And yet you seem to soften.
I stopped preparing you at dawn.
Every night you keep me warm.
Calm always comes after the storm.
You are comforting, you are something I can lean on.
The weird part of our story,
I want it to be eternal,
Even if it is mostly nocturnal.
Our story is full of dreams for me.
When we are as one.
I get lost in my mind
Without really being done.
I can’t see my reality, I’m too blind.
I will be always here, I swear!
Even if I am not Voltaire or Even Moliere,
We are all just men.
Tonight, I’m going to BED before ten.
